Join this farming family on their 50 acre market garden located about an hour from Montreal. This farm has a 200 member CSA, one of the first in Quebec. You will have a chance to try all aspects of running a CSA farm—A to Z—including helping with the drop-off in Montreal and putting out a weekly electronic newsletter. As well, each season the farm manages to be involved in one building project or another. This season they will put the finishing touches on the straw bale cabin , construct a solar shower, and time permitting, will build a composting toilet Apprentices live in a rustic straw bale cabin in the woods.

Farm #2

Not your typical vegetable farm! Spend your summer in this beautiful 1 acre certified organic vegetable garden on the grounds of a meditation and retreat center in Quebec, Canada, 165 km. northeast of Montreal. Become part of a community of people dedicated to living in a healthier, more peaceful world while learning about small scale organic vegetable production and natural orchard management. Work with an experienced organic and biodynamic gardener growing food primarily to feed the people staying at the Retreat Centre in addition to running a small CSA and selling produce at a farm stand on the weekends. Apprentices will be involved in all aspects of vegetable production (from planting to cultivating and harvesting) and will have an opportunity to participate in the daily yoga and mid-day meditation sessions at the Centre.
